Nice unless it's windy outside
While the product description says this has a cast aluminum pole, it is really an extruded aluminum pole that is only slightly heavier gauge than a beverage can. Within days of placing it on my deck, we had a moderate wind which snapped the pole in two places. My older umbrella actually has a cast aluminum pole and has withstood years of heavier winds. This product would be a nice accent in a greenhouse, or some other indoor application, but it should not be used anytime there is a possibility of wind.

Horrible, low quality umbrella
Umbrella broke the 2nd day it was on my patio.
MILD wind snapped it off and the "metal" bracket broke off.
Supposedly has a 1 year warranty.....not getting any help from Amazon/"Strathwood"
No warranty if it breaks
It's seems like a well-built umbrella, but within a day of putting it up, the hinge lock button broke inside the hinge, so it just flops over now. What really annoys me is that when I called Amazon to report the problem, they said that because I ordered it just over 1 month ago, they won't replace it, and I need to deal direct with the manufacturer. Unfortunately the manufacturer is in the UK, and apparently has no US presence. That is very poor customer service from Amazon, and means that if there is a problem outside 30 days from purchase, then you have no warranty.
UPDATE May 03
Following an email complaint, Amazon decided that they would "make an exception" and issue a full refund, as strangely enough the product is suddenly unavailable. That's better customer service, if somewhat late. It also now appears from a bit of research that Strathwood is an Amazon label (the UK Strathwood turned out to be a publishing company), which makes this situation really...
